In this Olympic year, the Congress was also aiming be ‘faster, higher, stronger’ along with ‘Communiter’, a fourth term introduced in 2021 which is Latin for meaning ‘together’. One of the unique features of this world-leading event is that it brings together delegates from both the scientific and commercial side. There are the conference tracks, the busy exhibition floor, panel discussions, innovation showcase, a day of pre-show workshops. All of which, help the industry to move faster, go further, and be more resilient, to paraphrase the Olympic motto.
Patrick Brown, BSWC scientific committee chair, and Distinguished Professor & Vice Chairman for the Department of Plant Sciences at University of California, Davis, opened the congress. His message could be summarised as – the industry is growing, and the possibilities remain endless. “In terms of what do we know about what could be a biostimulant, we have just scratched the surface,” said Professor Brown.
The expertise on stage was formidable at this year’s Congress. The scientific track has cemented its position as the premier venue to disseminate the latest research. But elsewhere there were panel discussions and workshops, looking at topics such as regulation, leadership and how to find a route to market with a biostimulant product.
As you’ll read in these pages, there were awards made in Miami too. The Farmers’ Award sponsored by Syngenta Biologicals, the Innovation Showcase award and StudentPoster winner.
As always, New AG International would like to thank its partnership with EBIC, the European Biostimulants Industry Council.
As Arne Pingel, president of EBIC said: ‘If you’re not here, you’re not in biostimulants.’
