A message from Kristen Sukalac & Sarah Cayrafourcq , EBIC Secretariat - What makes Farm to Fork Europe a must attend show….
In our increasingly uncertain world, it is crucial not just to share ideas, information, knowledge, and insights, but for people to come together to make sense of these inputs in a deliberate process that combines various perspectives and cultural contexts.
The 2021 Farm to Fork Europe Conference participants told us that the sense-making sessions made this one of the worthwhile conferences they have attended. We intend to build on this initial success and incorporate even more collaborative sense-making in future editions. Some of the insightful conclusions emerging from the group sense-making include:
No agtech innovation is a silver bullet for agricultural sustainability, and none can stand alone.
Perhaps the biggest innovation that is needed for the transformation of the food chain is for mindsets to change and for all actors to think more holistically about how their innovations fit into the complex biological, socio-economic, and political systems in which agriculture is embedded.
Stakeholder feedback from the conference has already begun to inform our future work at EBIC, both in the development of next year’s edition of Farm-to-Fork Europe, but also in our wider work program to promote the role of plant biostimulants in more sustainable agriculture.
We look forward to you joining us to enrich our discussions, conclusions and sense-making sessions even further in June of next year!
